About Me

Howdy!

I am the Director of Consumer Insights & Analytics for VISIT FLORIDA, the official tourism marketing corporation for the state of Florida. I lead a wonderful research team that is responsible for producing insights that drive VISIT FLORIDA’s marketing stategy, measuring the effectiveness of its marketing campaigns, and monitoring the health of Florida’s tourism industry. I specialize in fine-tuning research designs to make sure they produce actionable insights, and communicating the results of research to a variety of audiences in the way that is most useful to them.

An economist by training, I’ve spent most of my career in and around Florida state government. Before joining VISIT FLORIDA, I was the Director of the Office of Research and Planning at the Department of Financial Services. I’ve also held senior positions at the Office of Financial Regulation and Citizens Property Insurance, in addition to working on tax policy for the Florida House of Representatives.

Outside of work, I spend my time on a weird collection of hobbies. I love spending time outdoors, especially backpacking in the mountains of the mountain west. I’m a certified Master Naturalist in Utah and Florida. I sew my own custom camping gear, and I’m learning to make and alter my own clothes. I tell stories around the campfire. I play board games that you’ve probably never heard of. And I love to read philosophy-heavy science fiction novels.
